Registration

When should I register?

We encourage you to complete your registration as soon as possible, as we expect many more individuals may seek to participate in the Summit than can be accommodated.

What is the registration deadline?

Registration will be open until the Summit is sold out, or until February 27, whichever happens first. However, we expect that registration may fill up well before the deadline, as it did in 2013. We recommend registering as soon as possible.

Why do registrants need to be confirmed?

Since our space is limited, an appropriate distribution of attendees is necessary for the Summit to be successful. We will first review your application for completeness, accuracy, and to ensure that admission will not adversely impact U.S. interests. Registrants will then be considered based on criteria including the overall balance of attendees with respect to the source market and participant type, such as investor, economic development organization, domestic and foreign government representatives, media, academia, and service providers. Applications for registration will be evaluated on a rolling basis. In some cases, applicants may be denied or wait-listed based on the criteria listed above and space limitations.

When will my registration be final?

Your registration is not considered complete, and therefore will be subject to space limitations, until your registration has been confirmed and your payment has been received. We will notify you whether your registration has been confirmed within 15 business days of your registration submission.

If I'm bringing an interpreter, do I need to pay for them?

Yes. An attendee bringing an interpreter to the event will need to ensure that the interpreter is registered and paid. Interpreters will have access to all events so they can accompany their executive throughout the conference. The summit will be offering simultaneous interpretation at all Plenary Sessions into the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.

What is the Cancellation and Refund Policy?

Refunds for registration fees may be given if your cancellation request is received no later than Monday, February 16, 2015 at 6:00 pm EST. However, a $50.00 fee will be applied to ALL cancellations. No refunds will be given after Monday, February 16, 2015. Vetted registrants in the Media category are exempted from cancellation fees.

Important Note
Please note that pre-registration does not guarantee admission to the Summit. Your registration request will be answered within 15 working days. Your credit card will not be charged until your registration is confirmed. If you choose to pay by check, your registration will finalize when the check is received (within three weeks of confirmation).

Is the Summit for me? What will the Summit include (or not)?

Will the Summit be useful for U.S. companies looking for foreign investors?

The goal of the Summit is to enable companies to find locations to initiate or expand operations, and to enable states, regions, and cities to attract those companies. Summit programming is not focused on equity investment in established companies or mergers and acquisitions. The Summit would therefore not be useful for individual companies seeking to attract investment. If you are seeking investors for your business, you may wish to contact the local and state economic development offices in your area.

Will EB-5 investing be covered in the Summit? Will EB-5 investors find the Summit useful?

There will be no programming directly related to EB-5 visas at the Summit, so individuals seeking to invest and that are interested in learning about EB-5 visas should look to other events for information and EB-5 opportunities. However, the Summit will be useful for U.S. economic development organizations or institutional investors that include EB-5 as part of efforts to fund large-scale investments in the United States. These groups should register for the Summit under the appropriate registration category, "Domestic Firm," "International Firm," or "U.S. Economic Development Organization."

Preparing for the Summit

Do I need a U.S. visa to attend the Summit?

Traveling to the United States may require you to obtain a visa prior to entering the United States. To determine whether you need a visa, visit the Department of State's Consular Affairs Web Page; the web sites of U.S. Embassies and Consulates contain information to help you determine your visa requirements in local languages as well. Travelers using the Visa Waiver Program must have a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval prior to travel. We strongly encourage you to determine your visa requirements and to apply for a visa or ESTA, if necessary, as soon as possible.
