About SelectUSA

Established by President Barack Obama in 2011, SelectUSA is the U.S. government-wide program to promote and facilitate business investment into the United States in order to create jobs, spur economic growth, and advance U.S. competitiveness. Housed within the Department of Commerce, SelectUSA coordinates across the federal government to ensure investors get the answers and assistance they need.

SelectUSA provides services to international investors of all sizes and U.S. state, regional and local economic development organizations (EDOs), including:

• Information Assistance:
  • SelectUSA provides information to investors on the benefits of establishing operations in the United States, as well as the information that helps move investments forward. SelectUSA helps investors understand how our system and regulations work, and provides high-quality data and local contacts.
  • SelectUSA also works closely with state, local and regional economic developers to provide counseling on strategy, best practices, and on-the-ground intelligence from the U.S. Commercial Service and U.S. State Department global networks.
• Ombudsman Services: SelectUSA helps investors navigate the U.S. federal regulatory environment. SelectUSA coordinates across federal agencies to address investor questions and regulatory issues.
• Investment Advocacy: SelectUSA works with senior U.S. government officials to advocate on behalf of U.S. economic development organizations to attract investment to the United States.
• Promotional Platform: SelectUSA hosts high-profile events, such as the upcoming 2015 Investment Summit, the 2014 Summer Forum on reshoring, international Road Shows, and missions to trade fairs, while also offering tailored on-the-ground assistance globally.
